This file contains correspondence that had architectural drawings enclosed with them. It contains correspondence about the architectural drawings of the 'Layout plan of the campus,' 'floor plan of all the buildings,' 'Canteen first floor at CCMB,' 'proposed canteen block elevation' and 'Master plan of CCMB colony'. Two letters dated 4 February 1985 and 21 February 1984 respectively are enclosed.

Committee to study the plans and proposals of CCMB

This file contains information about the Committee established to review the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology's plans and proposals at the Centre’s Research Advisory Council's recommendation. This committee was set up by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). The committee included AS Paintal, Director of the VP Chest Institute in Delhi, VK Iya, Group Director of Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), DP Burma, Head of Benares Hindu University's Department of Biochemistry in Varanasi, and PM Bhargava, Director of CCMB. This has many annexures that are retained as found. For better preservation, two architectural drawings were removed from this file and placed in the architectural drawing subseries of this series. These files are 'Master plan of CCMB - file 1' and 'Master plan of CCMB - file 2'. This also has a few handwritten notes placed at the end of the file.

A new building was inaugurated at the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) on November 26, 1987, which was dedicated to former Indian Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi. This file comprises a bound volume containing all photocopies of the correspondence pertaining to the same. However, most of the letters and telegrams in this bound volume have annotations on them. All letters and telegrams in this bound volume were received between November 1987 and January 1988.

Both of these events occurred almost concurrently in 1987. This funding is provided as part of a collaboration between the NIH and CSIR (CCMB). The new CCMB complex, known as Jonaki, was dedicated to Rajiv Gandhi. The inauguration and dedication ceremony took place on 26 November 1987. The correspondence contained in this file is from 1987 and pertains to the particulars of Rajiv Gandhi's visit to CCMB for the event. Three copies of the identical letter are preserved due to the fact that they have different annotations on them. This also contains four handwritten notes, which are preserved alongside the letters with which they were discovered. This file also contains an undated document letter, which is retained at the end of the file.
