Scope and content
This file contains documents pertaining to financial assistance from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for foreign scientists who would be attending the inauguration of Jonaki, a new complex at the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB), as well as the symposium on 'Frontiers of Tomorrow in Biology'. Both of these events occurred almost concurrently in 1987. This funding is provided as part of a collaboration between the NIH and CSIR (CCMB). All the letters are addressed to or written by Philip Schambra, the Science Attache to the US Embassy, and discuss the logistics. This file includes correspondence dated from October to November of 1987. The majority of the correspondence in this file has enclosures, which are retained as found.
