This file consists of the annotated draft of the report 'A matter of method: a report on the method of science exhibition'. Vasantha Surya penned this report on the Method of Science Exhibition. This report provides a timeline of events leading up to the judgement from the Andhra Pradesh High Court. Almost all the pages in this draft are annotated. This, however, does not contain the epilogue page. This also contains detailed information about the contents of the exhibition during its National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) era. The final page of this file is attached to its back cover.

This file contains January to August, 1980 issues of 'The Method of Science' by PM Bhargava published in Science Today. It also contains three letters about homeopathy and one more page from the January 1980 issue.

This file consists of a book titled 'Papers pertaining to Exhibition on the Method of Science : BOOK II'. This book's cover also states, 'It is suggested that this book is read first, and followed by Book I; DB in this book refers to Book I'. A few pages of this book are annotated. Even though this is a copy of 'Papers pertaining to exhibition on the method of Science: book II' - file 1, it is kept because the annotations are distinct and there are fewer pages. Thus, not all of the information in the aforementioned file is included here.

This file also includes a listing of all the article titles, and the newspapers are arranged according to this list. Most of the articles are originals and have annotations on them. However, there are a few photocopies too. Additionally, there are a few newspaper articles in clipping form. This has an article published in The Patriot, the 'Mystery demolition of Bal Bhavan exhibition.' The article is divided into two parts, with the second part located on the verso of the newspaper.

It contains an extract from BM Udgaonkar's articles and a few letters.

A few photocopies from the list are missing, but the originals for these can be found in the file 'Newspaper articles on Method of Science Exhibition - file 1'. This also contains an annotated copy of the 'Press Release' by Yash Pal, copies of which can be found in 'Write-ups pertaining to Method of Science Exhibition- file 3'.

This folder comprises newspaper and magazine articles sent to Devendra Lal by PM Bhargava regarding the Method of Science Exhibition. In addition to these articles, there are also three letters. The initial letter comprises a list, and articles are retained according to this list. However, not every item mentioned in the letter was discovered. There are multiple copies of the article titled 'Method of Science' that was published in the Patriot. There is an original, a photocopy, and two drafts of the aforementioned article in the form of a talk for All India Radio. All of these are stored because they all contain annotations. There are also a few handwritten notes.

This file contains newspaper articles from 1980 to 1985 regarding the Method of Science Exhibition. These are newspaper clippings. This file includes articles from The Hindu, The Indian Express, and many more. This file has a letter sent to PM Bhargava by SD Thirumala Rao, which had a newspaper clipping titled 'Good deal of ballhoo' enclosed with it. This also has a few handwritten notes.

This file contains an Indian Express newspaper from 1984. This has an article pertaining to the Method of Science Exhibition which is a part of 'Miscellaneous newspaper articles pertaining to the Method of Science Exhibition - file 2'. However, this newspaper is retained because it contains numerous other significant articles.

This file comprises newspaper and magazine articles sent to Devendra Lal by PM Bhargava regarding the Method of Science Exhibition. These are arranged as per the list found in 'Newspaper and magazine articles on Method of Science Exhibition sent to Devendra Lal - file 1'. However, not every item mentioned in the letter was discovered. There are two magazines as well as a photocopy of another magazine article.

This large and significant series contains 272 files pertaining to the Method of Science Exhibition. In 1975, PM Bhargava was invited by the director of the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), Rais Ahmed, to set up an exhibition on the method of science. What followed was a decades-long endeavour to create and disseminate this exhibition and to give it a permanent home.

Although initially set up in Bal Bhavan, New Delhi, the exhibition was locked by Bhargava in 1977 following the general elections and a subsequent regime change both at the central government level and within the NCERT. In 1978, Bhargava discovered that the exhibition had been dismantled without his knowledge. After an investigation and a court dispute regarding this, the exhibition was eventually bought by the Andhra Pradesh government and installed at the Andhra Pradesh State Public Library. It was finally inaugurated on 12 November 1984, just a few days after the assassination of Indira Gandhi. In 1992 the exhibition was shifted to the Birla Science Centre, Hyderabad. In 2000, B Premanand, publisher and editor of ‘The Indian Skeptic’ wanted to bring the exhibition to Kerala but discovered that the material had been neglected and was unusable. Along the way, the exhibition had been documented by the Films Division and released in the late 1980s, and text from the exhibition serialized in the publication ‘Science Today’.

This series contains correspondence between PM Bhargava and members of the Husain family, including MF Husain and Mustafa Husain, publications such as an exhibition catalogue, articles, and exhibition materials pertaining to an exhibition featuring MF Husain’s paintings on key events in the twentieth century, with text by PM Bhargava. The letters discuss a proposed Husain-Bhargava Centre for Art and Science, Husain’s exile and death, and other subjects. The series includes several prints of MF Husain’s artwork and a facsimile of a letter from the artist to former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. The documents have either been arranged as they were found or arranged chronologically.

This contains letters pertaining to the Method of Science Exhibition from the year 1975. These letters are arranged from A to B. This file contains letters from SMR Ansari, GS Aurora, MVK Bapu, and BL Bery of Vazir Sultan Tobacco. This also has a list of solar eclipses in India from 1978 to 2000.

This contains letters pertaining to the Method of Science Exhibition from the year 1976. These letters are arranged from A to B. This file contains letters addressed to SMR Ansari, Ruby Atal and BL Bery of Vazir Sultan Tobacco. This has a few lists of solar eclipses in India from 1976 to 2000 as enclosures. This file also contains correspondence with no addressee by PM Bhargava.

This file contains an architectural drawing of the layout plan of the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) campus that was attached to a letter as an enclosure. It is marked as DRG NO. 1.

This architectural drawing is part of the file 'Committee to study the plans and proposals of CCMB' and is placed in a new file for better preservation. This contains the master plan of the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB). Both copies of the architectural drawings are retained.

This file contains a signed and annotated architectural drawing of the proposed canteen block at CCMB, Hyderabad. It is marked as DWG NO. 1.
