Correspondence with Supreme Court and advisory committee

This file contains a letter by NK Ganguly to the Supreme Court, dated 31 March 2005, with minutes of the first meeting enclosed with it. It also contains correspondence with DP Agarwal regarding the third meeting of the advisory committee. Also included is correspondence regarding the advisory committee's inaction by the Bhopal Gas Peedith Sangharsh Sahayog Samiti and the Bhopal Gas Peedith Mahila Udyog Sangathan and enclosures that were attached with it. A new building was inaugurated at the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) on November 26, 1987, which was dedicated to former Indian Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi. This file comprises a bound volume containing all photocopies of the correspondence pertaining to the same. However, most of the letters and telegrams in this bound volume have annotations on them. All letters and telegrams in this bound volume were received between November 1987 and January 1988.

This file consists of correspondence with American scientists who accepted the invitation for both the inauguration of Jonaki and Frontiers of Tomorrow in Biology and would need financial assistance from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) from 1986 and 1987. These letters have been retained as they are found in the file. Some of these letters may also be found in the previous files.

Documents from 1987 pertaining to financial assistance from NIH - Officer-in-Charge at NIH

This file contains documents pertaining to financial assistance from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for foreign scientists who would be attending the inauguration of Jonaki, a new complex at the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) as well as the symposium on 'Frontiers of Tomorrow in Biology'. Both of these events occurred almost concurrently in 1987. This funding is provided as part of a collaboration between the NIH and CSIR (CCMB). All the letters are addressed to the Officer-in-Chief of the Division of Research Grants at the NIH and discuss the logistics. There are two letters, and both letters have enclosures that are retained as found. The second letter includes numerous attachments, such as grant applications, a schedule of invited speakers, and pertinent information about the CCMB.
