This series focuses on various collaborative efforts with institutes and governments that Pushpa Mittra Bhargava actively participated in. It contains correspondence, memoranda, and other official documents of significance. The series is divided into three subseries. Details on each of the subseries are given below.

Subseries 1: Collaboration between Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and National Institutes of Health (NIH)

The initial discussions on a collaboration were initiated between the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB), Hyderabad, India, and the National Institutes of Health (NIH), located in Bethesda, Maryland, USA. On 3 March 1982, PM Bhargava sent the draft version of the proposal to Dennis O Johnson, the Scientific and Technological Attache for the American Embassy. In 1985, the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) came on board as a collaborative party. The final Memorandum was executed in 1986 between CSIR and NIH.

Subseries 2: Collaboration between Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and Imperial Cancer Research Fund (ICRF)

This subseries contains files about the collaboration between the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) in New Delhi, India, and the Imperial Cancer Research Fund (ICRF) in London, United Kingdom. This contains copies of the drafts of the memoranda and official papers, including handwritten, photocopied, and original letters. However, there is no copy of the final signed memorandum in this subseries.

Subseries 3: Collaboration between India and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR)

The subseries contains files about the scientific and technological collaboration between India and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR). PM Bhargava visited the Soviet Union to engage in discussions with eminent scientists there and establish a collaborative partnership. This series includes correspondence between PM Bhargava and Nurul Hasan, the Ambassador at the Embassy of India in Moscow, USSR, as well as Prabhakar Lavakare, who served on the National Bio-Technology Board of the Department of Science and Technology. The final memorandum was executed by the Prime Minister of India and the General Secretary of the USSR in Moscow on 3 July 1987, and a photocopy was sent to PM Bhargava.

This file contains information about the Committee established to review the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology's plans and proposals at the Centre’s Research Advisory Council's recommendation. This committee was set up by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). The committee included AS Paintal, Director of the VP Chest Institute in Delhi, VK Iya, Group Director of Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), DP Burma, Head of Benares Hindu University's Department of Biochemistry in Varanasi, and PM Bhargava, Director of CCMB. This has many annexures that are retained as found. For better preservation, two architectural drawings were removed from this file and placed in the architectural drawing subseries of this series. These files are 'Master plan of CCMB - file 1' and 'Master plan of CCMB - file 2'. This also has a few handwritten notes placed at the end of the file.

The archivist has put together this file. This file mostly contains minutes and agendas of meetings pertaining to the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB). There are two minutes of meetings titled 'Minutes of the meeting held on December 31, 1982 regarding common facilities between the NGRI and CCMB' and 'Record note of decisions taken at the meeting between Dr Vinod Gaur and Dr PM Bhargava on 15th May, 1983'. This file also has an agenda document titled '101st Meeting of the Governing Body to be held on Wednesday, the 2nd May, 1984 - Supplementary Agenda.'

This file contains complete script for the Method of Science Exhibition with attached handwritten note dated 1993 and a business card.

This file contains conference papers of the national conference on 'Indian Democracy: Contemporary Threats and Challenges' at Hyderabad on 22 - 23 August, 2003. Additional files related to the conference can be found in the file titled 'Correspondence regarding the invitation of PM Bhargava to participate in the national conference held at Hyderabad on August 22 to 23, 2003'.

This file contains papers submitted to the National Level Science Congress organized by Marathi Vidnyan Parishad, a science propagating institute in Maharashtra, held on 21 - 22 December, 1996. Additional related files can be found in the file titled 'Correspondence pertaining to the invitation sent forth to PM Bhargava to be the Chair person for the National Level Science Writers Conferences'.

This series contains all papers related to conferences, seminars, symposiums, and workshop that PM Bhargava attended or was in some way involved in. Two important conferences that saw multiple iterations were the Guha Research Conference and the Indian Social Science Conference. Papers for both conferences can be found in this series. The series has been further divided chronologically, with each subseries spanning a period of ten years.

This file contains correspondence with Satinath Sarangi regarding the Board of Trustees meeting. Additionally, correspondence regarding an open letter by Ward Morehouse is included. A report to the board of trustees is retained as is. It also includes a press statement. The open letter by Ward Morehouse can be found in the file titled 'Articles and writing pertaining to Bhopal gas tragedy' of the subseries Articles, reports and writings.

Two copies of the same letter are preserved since they have annotations on them. This letter also has an enclosure. This enclosure consists of a letter and a 'Plan of Action for Mutual Cooperation Between the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology, Hyderabad 500009 (India) and the Intramural Research Program of the National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Maryland, USA', which is at the end of the file. Though this plan is attached to more than one letter, only one copy is preserved.

There were two letters addressed to Yaspal, Secretary of the Department of Science and Technology, and S Varadarajan, Director-General of CSIR (Council of Scientific and Industrial Research), respectively, and both letters had the same enclosure. However, only one copy of the enclosure is preserved in this file to avoid repetition. This enclosure contains a letter from Philip E Schambra, Science Attache of the Embassy of the United States of America, New Delhi, and two annexures of its own titled 'Intellectual Property, Copyrights and Patent Provisions' and 'Suggested specific items of work on which, in the opinion of staff of CCMB, a collaboration between CCMB and NIH may be mutually profitable'. Two copies of a letter addressed to S Varadarajan, Director-General of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), are retained since both letters contain different annotations.

The last letter by Philip E Schambra has another corrected photocopy of 'Memorandum of Understanding for Cooperation Between the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology, Hyderabad, India, and the Intramural Research Program of the National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Maryland, USA' which is annotated with corrections to be made since the collaborative party has changed from the Centre for Cellular Molecular Biology (CCMB) to the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). There are also a few handwritten notes, and the half cover of the file is also retained since it has a stamp of CCMB and RRL on it.

This file contains letters and a draft of the brief report of the meeting for Indian research workers in biochemistry in January 1960. The draft of the report lists the invitees who could and could not attend the meeting, as well as those who did not respond. The scientists addressed in these letters include BK Bachhawat and IA Hansen, among others. The letters exchanged from December 1959 to January 1960 can be found in 'Correspondence on beginnings of Guha Research Conference 1959 - December 1959 to January 1960 '.

This contains a few letters related to the seminar on 'Scientific Temper and Spiritual Values' held at the Nehru Centre, Bombay, on January 22 and 23, 1983. This has an article by Rajeev Joshi, titled 'The (Ir) Relevance of Religion to Modern Man, along with a few newspaper clippings and a brochure on the seminar.

This file contains correspondence inviting PM Bhargava for a seminar on 'Frontier Technologies in the Third World: Towards A Strategy for Self-Reliance'. This seminar was organized by NISTADS from 15-18 December, 1982, at the Indian National Science Academy, New Delhi. In addition to this, a list of participants, registration forms for paper presentations, and proceedings can also be found.

This file contains a letter addressed to PM Bhargava, expressing gratitude for the conduct of the seminar titled 'National Convention in Defence of India's Freedom and Unity'. It was organized from February 9–10, 1985, in Hyderabad. The proceedings of the seminar can also be found.

This file contains correspondence with Abdul Jabbar of the Bhopal Gas Peedith Mahila Udyog Sangathan. It also contains correspondence regarding the International Medical Commission on Bhopal, a courier receipt, and a few write-ups. Enclosures are retained as found.

This contains correspondence from PM Bhargava to MF Husain, with a note on Husain's movie 'Gajgamini'. There is another letter from Najma Husain to PM Bhargava about an exhibition in Singapore. This also contains stationery items belonging to Husain, handwritten notes by PM Bhargava, PM Bhargava's entry permit to Dubai, and a print of a newspaper article on Husain. Along with all these, there is an envelope with 9 pictures from Husain's movie, 'Gajgamini'.

This contains correspondence between PM Bhargava and MF Husain's family. This also contains the proposal for the 'Husain-Bhargava Centre for Art and Science.' This also contains handwritten correspondence by PM Bhargava and MF Husain. The handwritten letter by PM Bhargava is undated.

This contains correspondence between PM Bhargava and MF Husain's family. This also has a short write-up on ' Glimpses of the Twentieth Century' by MF Husain. Includes a letter from MF Husain to former prime minister Manmohan Singh.

This contains correspondence between PM Bhargava and Makarand Paranjape. This also contains print out of a PowerPoint presentation, a few handwritten notes and a few interview questions.
